Civil Engineering Reference Manual 12th Edition by Charles Lindeburg - All You Need for 8 Hour PE ExamReviewed by Charles Lindeburg on Jul 14Rating: 5.0Civil Engineering Reference Manual 12th Edition - All-In-One to Pass PE ExamThe CERM by Lindeburg has everything that you need for the morning portion of the 8 hour PE exam. I went through the CERM cover to cover in preparation for the 8 hour PE exam. Many of the the problems on the exam came directly out of the CERM word for word. This book, along with sample problems for the afternoon breadth discipline that you select, is all you need to pass the PE. Don't make a mountain out of a fairly-large molehill.
I passed the 8-hour PE Examination first try using the Civil Engineering Reference Manual (CERM).
Morning (breadth) exam – There were problems that came directly out of the CERM.
Afternoon (depth) exam – Many of the problems were supported strongly by the CERM. I also used the NCEES sample exams for Transportation.
The PE exam is a very simple endeavor if you put the time into it. I studied daily for about an hour, with a few hours extra on weekends. Don’t use too many reference manuals, just get the CERM and buckle down.
